Nails done? OH YEAH! Check!

It really is gradient mania going on these past few days.  Normally when I do gradients I do the sponging technique.  Where I would take pieces of a cosmetic sponge, and dip it into some nail polish, and then on to my nail bed.

Lately I have been trying out other gradient techniques, that I have discovered, and by far I am loving my fellow nail art lover Sammy's (The Nailasaurus) technique.  It's simple to do, and it just makes it look perfect!  So make sure to check out her nail work as well!  She does a brilliant job when it comes to nail polish.

So on to my nails!
"THE CLAWWWW!"  *imitates the voice of the toy aliens from Toy Story* Seriously every time I hear someone complain about how someone takes a picture of their nails doing the claw, that pops in my head.  I think the claw is one of the best ways to show off all your fingers, and thumb :)
Nail Polish Used:
  • ORLY Bonder for base coat
  • Rimmel London English Rose
  • Rimmel London Hard Metal
  • China Glaze Fast Forward for top coat

How do you do your gradients?

Nails done? OH YEAH! Check!

So my current nails are a mixture of two tutorials that I came across.
  • My friend Emily had posted a link of Madeline Poole's perfect way to do gradient nails.
  • I have been seeing saran wrap marble nails a lot lately.  So I figured I would try it.  I used Nailed It's tutorial upon it.

Nails done? OH YEAH! Check!

So I decided to try a different color combo with the acid  grunge nails (tutorial), and used the colors that inspired me from a shirt I saw in Target.  The way it came out reminded me of wall paint peeling off an abandoned house.
Nail Polish Used:
  • Orly Bonder for base coat
  • Milani High Speed Fast Dry Nail Lacquer - Black Swift
  • China Glaze - Secret Perwinkle
  • Sinful Colors - Fig
  • Milani High Speed Fast Dry Nail Lacquer - White on the Spot
  • Milani Nail Lacquer - Orchidia
  • Sinful Colors - Winterberry
  • Sinful Colors - Island Coral
  • China Glaze Fast Forward for top coat
So there you have it!  Have you tried doing those nails yet?  If you have shoot me a link!

Nails done? OH YEAH! Check!

Was suppose to post this earlier, but I was honestly having one of those moments where stress was kicking my ass.  So here is what on my nails at the moment:
Right Hand
The roses were inspired by two wonderful girls:
  • CutePolish - She was one of the first YT nail art videos I started watching.
  • Solmate - Megs is such a sweet girl, and good friend.  When I saw her tutorial of roses, I knew I had to try them.
I decided to mix the roses in with my version of acid wash nails.  Instead of using a nail art brush, to apply the nail polishes, I went with the second option of using the nail polish brush itself.  Not to mention different nail polish color combos.

Tutorial: Nail Art - Acid Grunge Wash

I have been asked several times how I did these nails.  I was debating on doing a tutorial on these or not, but my answer soon came to me.  There's a Rite-Aid near my place, that I usually go to with my son to get ice cream at, but this time I was looking at makeup haha.  The cashier, I didn't get her name at all, stated "You're the one with does her own nails," or something along those lines.  I was surprised that she remembered me at all!  So after that incident, I knew I had to do a tutorial on it!

Once again these were a combination of inspirations from my dear sweet friend Emily, and Jamie from Nails Adored.

Nails done? OH YEAH! Check!

So today's nails were inspired by a cake picture I saw on Tumblr.  I loved the color on it!  Black and turquoise.  I decided I wanted to do my nails with vintage swirls vector of the sort.

So here's what I came up with.
Nail Polish Used:
  • Milani - Mint Candy
  • Milani - Dark Coffee
Base coat is ORLY Bonder, and top coat is China Glaze Fast forward.
I love getting inspiration from random things I see around.  What inspired your recent nail work?

Hope you have a wonderful day, and happy polishing!

Nails done? OH YEAH! Check!!

So today's nails were inspired by Nails Adored, but I ended up doing something different with it.  I decided to do the tie-dye trick I learned from my awesome friend Emily (A VERY creative nail artist <3).
I layered polish colors using Nails Adored way, and allowed it to dry.  I then took a cotton swab, and dipped it into a bowl I had poured some acetone in.  From there I gently rubbed it upon the nail to lift some of the polish off.  Simple, and very fun to do.

Nails done? OH YEAH! Check!!

It's been awhile since I have done a classic animal print design on my nails.  At first I was going to stick with just leopard prints, but then I decided to mix in some cheetah prints with it.
  • Orly Bonder
  • China Glaze Classic Camel
  • China Glaze VIII
  • Orly Rockin Rockette
  • China Glaze Fast Forward Dry Coat
Thank you for stopping by, and hope you enjoy your day!  Happy weekend!
